The project was designed to identify opportunities for diversifying cereal-based cropping systems with potato and sweet potato in the three target Indian states, in order to improve the nutritional quality of rural and urban diets and provide the chance to increase agricultural incomes among poor rural farming families.
The study aimed to look the value of potato and sweet potato from both an economic and nutritional value chain perspective to address issues of malnutrition and poverty alleviation amongst poor farmers. BRIEF conducted in-depth interviews & focused group discussions with the beneficiaries, producer groups & farmers in the identified districts basis which a detailed report was prepared.
