Samit Chakraborty was involved with Global Strategy & Investment Consulting (GSIC), the research and investment banking arm of Planman Consulting India (Pvt.) Ltd., for over four years prior to joining BRIEF. His KRAs there included preparation of industry reports, company reports, business proposals and other relevant research assignments. GSIC, during the later part of his tenure there, ventured into fund raising activities. Assignments related to fund raising comprised of deal origination and screening, preparation of documents (such as teasers, IMs and business plans), industry analysis, company analysis, financial statement analysis, comparables analysis, etc.
During his tenure in BRIEF, Samit has managed projects dealing in bottlenecks faced by high-tech MSME start-ups in India, inversions in duty structure in selected Indian manufacturing sectors, impact of imports under EPCG scheme on exports and the India’s capital goods sector, etc. He has also been involved in various other economic and market research assignments. His KRAs in BRIEF include proposal building, team management, report structuring, analysis, report writing and client handling.
