The Indian Ports Association, an apex body of Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways (MoPSW), Government of India, has assigned BRIEF as Project Management Consultant (PMC) to facilitate maritime trade and liaise between the Ministry and stakeholders in order to facilitate India’s ease of doing business ranking.
The main objective of this study is to identify of bottlenecks in the trade ecosystem and prepare a port specific roadmap for enhancing existing infrastructure and systems and developing new platforms in the trade ecosystem to enhance inter-department/stakeholder coordination. In the first year, four major ports came under study. The ports include JNPT, Chennai Port Trust, Kolkata Port Trust and V. O. Chidambaranar Port Trust (Tuticorin). Additional ports may be added during the course of the program.
